Information - Truck Regulations
1. Use Safety Handrail Structure: Do not climb onto the top of your tanks or into the bed of your trailer unless you have parked under and use the safety handrail structure. Blue Mountain Minerals provides safety handrail structures, located at the southwest side of the loadout bins and on the plant entrance road. This applies to all areas below the top of Marble Quarry Road. ANY TRUCKER WHO VIOLATES THIS PROCEDURE IS SUBJECT TO CITATION BY MSHA (Federal Mine Safety and Health Administration) personnel. Truckers may elect to arrive with their lids open.
2. Wear Hardhats: Drivers must wear a hard hat that meet appropriate ANSI standards when out of their trucks. No metal hard hats are allowed.
3. Use CB Radio: Truckers should monitor CB channel 14 while on Marble Quarry Road or in the Blue Mountain Minerals plant. Trucking companies routinely loading at Blue Mountain Minerals are required to have CB radios installed in their trucks. Keep this channel clear for scalehouse communications.
4. Speed Limits: Truckers must observe speed limits. Hill traffic on Marble Quarry Road should be kept below 15 mph and 10 mph in the plant.
5. Blue Mountain Minerals Heavy Mine Equipment Has the Right of Way:
Do not travel into the path of moving Blue Mountain Minerals heavy equipment. Do not proceed until you have received a visual signal from the equipment operator to do so. Heavy equipment has the right of way.
6. Watch for Pedestrian Traffic: Watch for pedestrian traffic on Marble Quarry Road. We appreciate the many positive comments we have received about the courtesy and friendliness of truck drivers coming into and out of Blue Mountain Minerals. Please help us keep it that way.
